Jayda, Ashley, & Belle

My big girl Jayda turned 4 on October 31st. What a good girl she is...so smart & caring. Her favorite things right now are coloring with Macy, anything to do with princesses (especially Ariel & Belle), dancing & singing, dressing herself (this happens more than once a day), provoking Jonah:), and of course playing with our new pets!

Belle is our newest addition at the trees. She is a 6 month old golden retreiver & is an outside dog. She is so sweet & pretty too. I couldn't ask for a nicer dog. We love her!

Here is Jayda's kitty which she named Ashley. She is very girly- gentle & fluffy.

Here is Jonah with mama kitty, named "mama." He's been chasing the kitties & carrying them around all morning. We also have two other kitties- Jonah's is the all black boy kitty which he named "pink" :) Silas has the smallest one & her name is Cali.

In other news, Silas recently had his 4 month old checkup and weighs over 18 pounds!

Here is your warning, this video is a little boring. It was such a beautiful morning and I finally had the camera with me. I didn't put any thought in to this. But if you have not seen the house and live far away, then at least you can see what we have been up to. More to come....

we have walls!

A lot can happen in six days...and with the help of my mom, dad, Kyle, Lee, Chad, Tim, & Beth, we went from a foundation with nothing on it, to having almost every wall up on the main floor. AMAZING! Thank you Mom, Dad and Kyle for being there sun-up to sun-down.

It is so hard to get a picture of Jonah these days! He keeps hitting the camera and saying "NO!" when I try to take a picture of him...He is definately a 2 yr old!

Silas is 7 weeks old tomorrow!

On June 25th, (yes over a month ago!) we welcomed little Silas Timothy into the world. 8 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long, a beautiful and healthy baby boy. The labor experience this time around was amazing, just amazing. I would LOVE to share more, but life is a little busy a the moment:)

Here is Silas ready to come home with the binky Jayda snuck into my hospital bag. (her first binky) Good thing, since we intentionally didn't bring any pacifiers. Silas is half a binky baby so far. Half the time he likes it and half the time he gets mad when I try to give it to him.

Here is Silas- 1 month old. I can't believe how quickly he is growing! Seriously, I would not be surprised if he is over 10 pounds by now. The boy eats at least every two hours!

Jonah is finally noticing there is a baby in the house and will ask to hold him a few times each day. He gives him lots of kisses followed by lots of "love taps" ?? Jayda tells me that "Jonah is just sad because he's not the baby any more and we need to give him lots of attention" :)

This morning when Cliff left, Jayda told me that Isaiah and Levi were coming over because Daddy went to work in Waverly. That was usually the case...for over a year and a half we've eaten breakfast with the Mayfield boys a couple times a week. Since their dad is graduating this weekend and my due date is coming up fast, we decided to end the era on watching each others kids (on a regular basis that is:). There's been some crazy, stressful, fun, messy, and hilarious moments, and I'm thankful for them all. (they definitely prepared me for the next one!) I could get really sentimental and emotional, but I know they will always be friends. We love you Isaiah and Levi...can't wait for our next play date!

Last day- We got to play at the Homan's with Aunt Heidi. We even broke out the sun screen and the kids got to jump in their undies. Yay for warm weather!

Looking forward - Summer 2010

This spring and summer are already busy and the chaos is just beginning. Two toddlers running around, collectively building a machine shed complete with living areas, followed by a new baby, followed by selling and moving out of one house and building a new house. Throw in possibly a new dog for Grandma and Grandpa, a little golfing and travel. Whew. Actually it all sounds pretty good.

I am preparing myself with one of these little bad boys--a mini video camera, so hopefully between working and living there will be plenty of updates as things happen. And for the amateur tech geek in me, this should be fun.

We broke ground...ha!

A week ago our roomies came home from Israel. Woohoo!!! We missed you Mom & Dad!

This also meant that the work has just begun for them and us...we even broke ground where our house will be...sort of:) (makes some great dirt for your garden, right Heidi?)

and here is one of our windows that were delivered today. I didn't realize they were the size of a person!

And last but not least...meet our new friends. Mommy Duck and Daddy Duck. This morning they snuck up on Dad and we ran out to feed them some bread. They made their way back to our house three more times today. The kids loved it. Is it possible to feed a duck too much bread???

a first

I guess this is what happens when your 3 year old is done taking naps (it's been over a week) and your 20 month old decides that he will no longer sleep in his crib. If you know Jonah, you know that something is seriously wrong with this picture! I have to admit they look pretty sweet, but I want my sleep loving baby back!

Happy spring forward everyone! What a great day to be outside! This morning we headed out to "the trees" to see how wet the ground is. I still can't believe how quickly all that snow melted.By the time we reached the shed, our boots were totally sinking into the mud.

We also went to the park for the first time this year. Big moment for all of us! Jayda wanted to go to the park by our old house- you can see her running ahead of us. This was also Jonah's first time getting to actually climb around on the playground. What a big boy. Jonah now LOVES to be outside and almost always has to be carried back inside kicking and screaming.

Looking forward to many more days outside...the kids were so worn out, they were both in bed by 8!

We can't wait to live out here!!!

Jonah's first haircut

Wow...2 posts in 1 week? Could this be a record?? So we've been talking about getting Jonah's hair cut for a while now.... it was a little said, but more just fun to see him look more grown up:) He did SO well! Daddy held him the whole time and he let the lady do her thing until she was finished. It's all cleaned up around his ears and still a little shaggy, but doesn't he look handsome? (the pictures downloaded backwards, so scroll down to see the before pictures!)

Vegging Out

Jonah was no problem today while Mommy was cooking and cleaning. A little tube and his favorite blanky and he was set.

Sorry we haven't updated forever! We'll see how it goes in 2010!
